Creatures on our Planet

Kitten Smitten
Leeds, 2023
A quick 60 min work on an A5 on a Sunday. The true test in this piece was the kitten's hair. Animal hair always toughest to capture. My fav features of this piece is the nose, eyes and the little pink bits on the belly.
What the Fish?
Dubai, 2024
Another quick 90 min work. Wanted to capture an oceanic piece and settled on this stingray. The background was a definite afterthought but most needed to bring out the fish's features.

Redder the bug, better the luck
Leeds, 2023
Funny, the first thing drawn was the flower not the bug ;)
Hello Deer,
Dubai, 2018
As soon as I saw the antlers, I knew I had to draw this beauty. Must say, I got away from not having to draw the other eye. While the antlers are certainly vibrant, my fav feature is the right ear.

Hey Alex, It's me Marty
Loughborough, 2019
Saw Madagascar for the 50th time and thought of drawing this one. Didn't have my colors with me, so ballpoint pen it was. Had fun though, took longer than expected, but worth it.
Tentacles
Loughborough, 2019
Saw this on the internet and had to draw it. Was skeptical of just using pencil, but results still amaze me.

Kiss from a Rose
Leeds, 2023
If you know the meaning of the title, you and I think alike. I probably was listening to this Seal song while making this one.
My fav feature is the whiskers on this one. Overall a good project to do on the weekend.
Finding Nemo?
Dubai, 2015
Inspiration was taken from the movie, just didn't end up the right fish.

Personally, I get the feeling one is sad, while the other isn't. Thought?

Mr. Krabs
Dubai, 2024
Visited Kite Beach in Dubai and spotted two crabs near the shore. One white, the other orange. Got the inspiration there.

Need to go snorkeling there for more inspiration.

Abstract

Styles
Dubai, 2013
Styles, cause its one of my earlier works in abstract featuring the use of color pencils, paints, crayons and graphite pencils. All blended well together.
Shades
Dubai, 2014
Started as a drawing of shades by the beach. Not sure when I decided to incorporate a message.

Particularly, love the curvature of the right lenses and the shadow.

The Zoom In
Dubai, 2014
I suppose, I had a lot of pink paint I wanted to get rid of.
I do believe, this one was made shortly after my visit to Dubai's Butterfly Garden.
The Creep
Dubai, 2016
Did the eyes first, then the mouth. Then it started getting eerie.

With every stroke for the hair, I got more frightened. Loved every bit of it though.

The First
Dubai, 2012
One of my earliest works. back when you could still see the pencil drawing in the back. Shadows were a mess and background was a definite after thought.
Bird of Paradise
Dubai, 2015
An absolutely mesmerizing plant, that also happens to be the subject of my art exam.

Not sure what I was thinking with the background, but makes for decent abstract.

Husky
Dubai, 2013
An attempt to make a realistic husky painting ends with an abstract version of the dog.

The grey background was much needed to bring out the white hair of the hound.

Fruits & Veggies

Pomogranate
Dubai, 2014
Tried the Kohinoor watercolor pencils for the first time on this piece. Never again, have I used any other color pencils since.

Absolutely loved the result. Completely, amazed by the results of these beautiful coloring tools.
Unripe Pumpkin
Dubai, 2014
An exam prep. Wanted to make sure, I was ready for anything. Last thing, I would have wanted was to show up for the exam with no green, for a live unripe pumpkin.

Spoiler: The examiner could not get his hands on a pumpkin for the exam |:(

Watermelon
Dubai, 2014
Is what you end up drawing for your exam, when your art examiner can't get his hands on a pumpkin.

Aren't I glad, I showed up with that green color ;)
Tangerine
Dubai, 2013
Decided to draw live fruits. Oranges, is all that was present in my art teachers kitchen.

As I look back on this I wonder, what thought lead to such crazy shadows.

The healthy mix
Dubai, 2013
All was fine, until the art teacher decides the red chili should be painted and not colored like the rest.

My response: a background that's got no reason to exist. Definitely an after after thought.
The Assortment
Dubai, 2013
I am particularly proud of the cucumber. Possibly, the most realistic cucumber I have ever made.

Shadows though are something else, best to not talk about it.

Glistening Pumpkin
Dubai, 2014
Another one for the exam prep. Thought if light reflected off the pumpkin's surface were highlighted, possibly, more points would be awarded.

You know the rest :)
The fruit Bunch
Dubai, 2013
All them fruits, and the most I am proud of is the bowl they are in.

My art teacher had this off white bowl, that I considered particularly tricky to draw. A bit of paint work with light yellow and green did the trick.

It was the pear, that almost made me put this in the abstract section. No pear looks like that.

3 Dimensional

The Scare
Dubai, 2016
Drawn originally as pure means to scare my mum. Worked quite well tbh.
The Boot
Dubai, 2017
The first work I did after being back from uni during the first year of BEng.

Used a marker and black pencil to show the two textures on the shoe

The Myth
Dubai, 2017
Almost certain I didn't have access to my colors or else I would have loved to make this one in color.
Iron, Man!
Dubai, 2017
Surveyed the internet for a while, didn't get inspiration. Ended up just drawing the nearest placed item: Iron.

Enjoyed every bit.

The Shoe
Dubai, 2016
The very first 3D piece by me. Was real proud of the toe end of these converse.

Almost certain, I didn't have access to my colors even for this one. Pity!
The Croc
Dubai, 2017
Tired of drawings shoes, I decided to draw an individual croc ;)

Nature

Flower Brooch
Dubai, 2015
Ran out of the Kohinoor watercolors so tried Derwent. Lets just say not a fan. This is possibly, one of the few drawings done with Derwent.
The Art Room Plant
Dubai, 2014
Made this Lily in the schools art room while waiting on the art teacher. You can possibly tell, it was a long wait.

Serenity
Dubai, 2015
A quick 20 min work based on pure imagination.
Another one in Paradise
Dubai, 2015
Pushed the capabilities of orange, green and violet and how they blend with one another.

The Week'nd Project
Dubai, 2017
One of my hyper-realistic works, done over a span of two days. The resemblance to the real plant is quite mesmerising.

Really pushed the boundaries with green on this one.
Serenity 2.0
Dubai, 2015
Done on the same day as the first Serenity. Completely derived from imagination.

Practice of Paradise
Dubai, 2015
The first bird of paradise done as practice for an exam. The top left showcases the colors tested to see if they blend well together to make the plant seem seamless in texture.

Potraits

Self
Loughborough, 2019
A self portrait created as means to pass time at Uni during the weekend. Must have looked for ideas on the internet for an hour straight before deciding on drawing myself. Surprising just took an hour and half to complete the drawing.
Bob
Loughborough, 2019
A portrait on Robert De Niro. Found the pic on the internet. Didn't have my colors so pencil was the nature choice. Ultimately decided to use a ball point pen to make the face stand out more.

Einstein or Shah?
Dubai, 2018
Originally meant as portrait of Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah, later was easily mistaken for Albert Einstein by everyone I presented it to.
I let you decide for yourselves. Einstein or Shah?
Lizzy
Dubai, 2016
Saw 'Now you see me', loved it. Then immediately saw 'Now you see me 2'. It had its moments. Drew Lizzy Caplan immediately after. Glad I did it in color too.

Bae, Don't watch
Dubai, 2017
Saw Baywatch, and decided to draw Alexandra Daddario. Could not stop laughing when it was done, drawing not movie. Just gonna say an attempt was made.

To those who see this drawing in person, I ask them to guess the celeb and just say yes to any actress they think it looks like :)
Rock, Paper ........
Dubai, 2014
One of the very first portraits I have done. Big fan of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Had to draw this one. Emphasis as you can tell was more on the tats, then the face ;")

Sketch
Loughborough, 2018
In more ways than one. A self sketch done with a sketch pen used to write on CD's. What can I say: Desperate times, desperate measures.
J - Law?
Loughborough, 2018
Yes, suppose to be Jennifer Lawrence. Big fan of hers since 'The Hunger Games'. I completely understand if you don't see it. Some days I too don't.

Somehow this one has more resemblance to Melania Trump

This Gust In
Dubai, 2017
Was big fan of the CW 'The Flash' show. At least the first three seasons before it all went downhill. Drew, Grant Gustin's Flash around the time I was binge watching the show.

I got strong 'not positive' thoughts on DC's 'The Flash' movie, but I suppose so do most who have seen the movie. I think DC should best stick to animated movies as clearly, its their strong suit.
Take a Nee, son
Loughborough, 2019
Big fan of Liam Neeson. Been in some real incredible productions. Very convincing actor. Should be more careful of his on-screen offsprings though. Seems they keep getting in some form of trouble in most of his recent movies.

Truly convincing man, as an actor should be. I have no doubt that he's got a very particular set of skills. I mean he is the guy that went head on with The Batman :0

Still Life

Spices
Dubai, 2015
This was the first drawing where I learnt, I can use grey, black and white color pencils for making a black and white drawing rather than using graphite or charcoal pencils.
The Ancient
Mumbai, 2013
The first proper black and white drawing I ever did. Back then, needed a ruler to draw in the lines and tested graphite's capability for bring out different shades of grey.

The End
Dubai, 2017
Truly the end of my black color pencil. Fun fact this was only the practice for an art exam. Had to rush a day before the exam to obtain a Kohinoor black color pencil.
The Saree
Coventry, 2023
Been meaning to draw/paint Indian ethnic wear for a while. Finally decided to do the Saree. Only wish I did it in color.

The Cutie
Loughborough, 2018
Have had this stuffed tiger puppet since I was twelve. Happened to be the only stuffed animal I took with me to Uni.

Was placed on my table for 4 years straight. Some would say, it too graduated with me.
Smile! for the camera
Dubai, 2013
At the start it was to be a 3D drawing. The straps interfered with the perception. Now its simply a still life drawing

Leaves
Dubai, 2013
A 20 mins creation done as means to kill time during a real boring chemistry lecture at school.
The Focus
Dubai, 2013
Clearly the emphasis was more on the bowl than the fruit platter. The work speaks for itself. One of my earliest works in still life. Big project too, took two days to make.

Egg Beater
Dubai, 2014
Just an Egg Beater.
