Amey Tanaji Rane
Hi, I am an aspiring researcher with a keen interest towards the field of Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation and Artificial Intelligence. Ever since my teens, I have wanted to advance mankind by introducing new technologies and inventions. I have been fortunate to gain experience and knowledge in the subjects of my interest over the past decade by being at top institutes and companies in Europe. An in depth view of my past experiences and projects done can be seen below.

Warwick Manufacuring Group WMG | Warwick University
At WMG my role is of Project Engineer responsible for the 'Smart Tree Production System', STPS project. The project deals with automating, a current manualy achieved process of sorting trees at infancy stage. As a project Engineer my responsibilities included managing all mechanical engineering related tasks, additionally, making purchase decisions for the robots, softwares and tools needed to execute the project systematically. Planning the stages and distributing tasks among team members too was acomplished on the role. During the course of the project, on several occasions, I contributed towards presenting the work accomplished on the project to our buisness partners, clients and funding parties. In addition, I supported another project called 'Automated Spot Precision Application', ASPA project. Here too my responsibilities were the same as I contributed towards the Mechanical and Automation development of the project.

Schenider Electric | Alten UK LTD
After graduating with a MSc in Robotics, I joined ALTEN UK LTD, an engineering consultancy. Through them, I got into Schneider Electric in Leeds as a Quality Engineer responsible for producing Work Instruction (WI) documents for all manufacturing processes at Schneider's Leeds plant. The responsibilities included creating new and updating WI documents based on new processes being introduced and iterations being made to existing processes. These documents would act as physical instructions that are to be followed by all operators working on manufacturing tasks on the workshop floor. Additional responsibilities that were undertaken were assisting digitalization of all WI processes to be viewed on electronic devices with displays such as on phones and tablets.

Cranfield University
I pursued my MSc in Robotics at Cranfield University. During the course, I gained significant knowledge in Automation, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and programming. I was part of a group project tasked with deploying a mobile robot in a restaurant environment capable of navigating autonomously using Path Planning, SLAM and Object Detection. During the last four months of my course, I worked on a machine learning and computer vision thesis project with the objective of deploying these tools to detect and estimate poses of airport goers to determine intoxication in human gait. The scope of the project included performing real time human pose detection and estimation.

Philips Electronics B.V.
I interned in the Mechantronics R&D department of Philips Heathcare in Netherlands for my Industrial Placement year. It was an absolutely outstanding experience working at the research headquarters of Philips towards an individual project dealing with building a new design for the vertical drive unit of CT and MR patient tables. During the year, I got good experience, by making use of the theoretical knowledge I had gained during my first two years at Loughborough University. A first hand industrial experience on designing a product for a company gave me great confidence and knowledge of tackling industrial project and helped to drive my ambition towards the field of robotics and automation.

Loughborough University
I have done my BEng in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University. During the four joyous years I got good experiences and immense knowlegde in engineering. The course allowed me to channelise my thoughts, ideas and skills towards numerous projects over the span of four years. Along with having a strong reputation in Mechanical Engineering, the university also has a great standing in sports, and I had an absolute blast partaking in various sport activities over the years and making numerous friends. During my final year, I worked on a project that dealt with redesigning a commuter bicycle.
